Rules!

Blaise has asked me to establish a few ground rules, and I had no choice but to oblige him.

Authors
  • All stories must be Blaise-centric. Slash, Het, and Gen-fic are all welcome, as long as Blaise is the main character.

  • All stories should be beta-read and free of SPaG problems. Blaise insists that we reserve the right to return submissions for correction.

  • There are two length categories: hill and mountain. Authors have the option of submitting a story in each category (and you will get a naughty note from Blaise if you write for both ;) Hills are required to be 5,000 words or more. Mountains are required to be 10,000 words or more.

  • Blaise requests that all authors stay anonymous until the reveals have been posted at the close of the fest. This means waiting until the reveals are up to post about your story on your personal journal or archive it.

  • All stories should be unique. While sequels and prequels are fantastic, Blaise and I would prefer that blaisebigbang be the first time readers read your story.

  • If you are submitting a story that is rated NC17, you must indicate that you are of legal age to view adult content in your country at the time of submission (there will be a place on the form to do this).

  • All stories should be submitted to blaisemod[@]gmail[.]com by July 15 with a completed submission form. For Blaise and my sanity, please include the submission form in the body of your submission email, as well as at the top of your submission file. To limit possible formatting issues, please only send files in .doc or .docx file format.

Artists
  • All pieces must be Blaise-centric. Slash, Het, and Gen are all welcome, as long as Blaise is the main focus of the piece.

  • All pieces should be fully realized and finished before submission. Blaise would prefer that all art be beta-checked, but it is not required.

  • There are two length categories: hill and mountain. Artists have the option of submitting an art piece in each category (and you will get a naughty note from Blaise if you create something for both ;) Hills should represent approximately a week's work. Mountains should represent approximately two week's work.

  • Blaise requests that all artists stay anonymous until the reveals have been posted at the close of the fest. This means waiting until the reveals are up to post about your art on your personal journal or archive it.

  • All pieces should be unique. Blaise and I would prefer that blaisebigbang be the first time people have seen your piece.

  • If you are submitting an art piece that is rated NC17, you must indicate that you are of legal age to view adult content in your country at the time of submission (there will be a place on the form to do this).

  • All stories should be submitted to blaisemod[@]gmail[.]com by July 15 with a completed submission form.

Are fic and art creations separate? I mean, will there be a claiming phase for artists to create complementary fanworks for the fics, or are artists just meant to create their own artwork on their own, and there will be no matchups?

I hadn't planned on there being match-ups, no. If an author and artists want to work together on a piece, I would be completely open to setting that up, though.

Okay, thanks for the explanation. I'll be pimping this on hp_diversity once sign-ups open.

Can threesomes (of any rating) but permitted? Or is it strictly a two person gig?

Edit: Also, do I have to prompt to claim or can I claim something without prompting?

Oh my dear, you've just won a little piece of my heart. Threesome to your heart's content! And there is no prompting (although I can provide you with one if you want). You just fill out the form for fic or art and write/draw what you like, as long as Blaise is the main focus.

Ooh, yay! Isn't that just lovely. I always think Blaise is the 'more-the-merrier' type.

Is there somewhere I can send a link privately to give you an idea of the type of story I'm interested in writing?

Heee! How did I know you would ask that. I didn't ask though, I just signed up, lol!

Haha, because you know as well as I do that Blaise thinks 'sharing is caring'. :)

Only with a certain blond and redhead... :P ;)

There are no prompts unless you want me to make one up for you, so write whatever you like. And yes! threesomes are more than welcome! The only limits to what you can write is that Blaise is the main character and that the story is new to the internet when you submit it.

(ps - Sorry for the late reply. I just moved and don't have internet at home yet.)

I have ideas already! :D Ohh one thing, it doesn't have to be epilogue compliant does it?!

Nope! Anything is fair game, as long as it's Blaise-centric and brand new.

Excellent! I have a long story and short one in mind. My only concern is that the long one is going to be chaptered. If you don't want something that long (It is already 30,000 wds) then I can just submit the shorter one.

I will take whatever you want to give me! I would love to see a chaptered fic as part of the fest! As long as you think you can finish it within the timeline, go crazy :)

*dances* It is actually almost done... :D I will definitely have time to work on a short one as well.

Hello! I have some question.
I hope I can explain myself, english isn't my first language, so... sorry for my mistake!

1- There is a deadline for sign-ups? I have look for it, but I haven't found it.

2 - The "Hill or Mountain" category, what does it mean? It's a geographic aspect of place or there is another mean? (well, I know, it's a stupid question, but I have recently learn that "fall" isn't only the verb "to fall" but colud meand "autumn" too, so I want to be sure...)

3 - We have to send the sing-up form to your e-mail address?

There is no deadline. If you can write/make it before the submission deadline, you can sign up to do so.

The hill or mountain are just labels for the different oroject sizes. It's meant to be clever, but isn't literal.

You sign up by replying (commenting) to the sign-up post with the completed form for either fic or art. Please do not email the form to me.

Does that answer your questions?

This is the mod, by the way. I'm replying from my tablet and haven't figured out how to switch to the mod journal from my personal journal yet.

I'm sorry, I didn't receive the notification of your reply, I've seen this only now. -_-'

Ehm... well, I'm sorry but can I have some example for the sizes? I have partecipated to some contest, but I've never run into a rule like this. XDDDDDDD

To quote the rules directly: for writing,"Hills are required to be 5,000 words or more. Mountains are required to be 10,000 words or more." So writing hills should be between 5,000 and 9,999 words, while mountains can be anything above 10,000 words long.

for artwork: "Hills should represent approximately a week's work. Mountains should represent approximately two week's work." What one or two week's worth of work means is up to the discretion of the artist, although I would have to return anything that isn't at least a step or two above stick figures.

Does that help?
